Stable chain, explained

Plain-English answers to the questions everyone asks first.

What is Stable chain?

Stable is a layer-1 blockchain backed by Tether and Bitfinex, built specifically for USDT payments. It launched its mainnet in December 2025. Instead of a volatile gas token, transaction fees are paid in USDT0 — a dollar — so sending money costs a known, tiny amount (about $0.00002 per transfer).

What is USDT0?

USDT0 is the official omnichain version of Tether's USDT, built on LayerZero's OFT standard and managed by Everdawn Labs. On Stable it doubles as the gas token: every USDT0 is backed 1:1 by USDT locked on Ethereum.

How do I get money onto Stable?

Bridge USDT (or almost any asset) from another chain using the official Stable Hub (hub.stable.xyz), USDT0.to, Stargate, Relay, or Jumper — it arrives as USDT0, ready to use as gas. Some exchanges (Backpack, Flipster) support direct withdrawals to the Stable network.

How do I earn yield on my USDT here?

Deposit into a vault. The main options are the Gauntlet USDT0 vault on Morpho (~7% APY) and StableEarn (sthUSD), Stable's first-party vault backed by tokenized T-bills via Theo, with extra rewards streamed through Merkl. Yields change — check the Earn section for live numbers.

What is the STABLE token?

STABLE is the network's governance and staking token, launched December 8, 2025 alongside the Stable Foundation. It is NOT the gas token — gas is USDT0. Several memecoins use confusingly similar names; check contract addresses.

Are the memecoins on Stable safe?

Mostly no. The chain's memecoin scene started July 24, 2026 and roughly half of all launched tokens have already had their liquidity drained. Our trenches feed marks drained tokens in red and survivors with a green check — assume anything new can go to zero in minutes.

What wallet do I need?

Stable is EVM-compatible (chain ID 988, RPC rpc.stable.xyz), so most EVM wallets work. StablePay is the first-party payments app (iOS/Android), and Binance, OKX, Bitget, Gate, and Atomic wallets all support the network.

Where does usdterminal's data come from?

Nine independent sources: DefiLlama, GeckoTerminal, Dexscreener, CoinGecko, Merkl, Sourcify, the official Stable blog, and the chain's own RPC. DEX volume comes from GeckoTerminal because DefiLlama's adapter currently misses the chain's biggest venues. Every number carries a freshness timestamp.

Live numbers for everything above are on the terminal. Not financial advice.
